About Emerald Lake Hills

Emerald Lake Hills, often called Emerald Hills, is an unincorporated San Mateo County community between Woodside, Redwood City, and San Carlos. It sits among oak-studded hills near Interstate 280, with very high home values and a wooded Peninsula feel. The area was once part of Rancho de las Pulgas, and residents use both the Emerald Hills and Emerald Lake Hills names. A small wilderness preserve protected in 1993 adds real ecological value, while schools tie residents to Redwood City and Sequoia Union districts.
