Enterprise, WV

Enterprise is a Harrison County census-designated place set along the West Fork River, in the north-central West Virginia landscape between Clarksburg and Fairmont. The river gives the community its clearest line on a map, running through a valley shaped by farms, older industrial sites, and roads that follow the water. Harrison County was formed in 1784, and the West Fork corridor carried early settlement, mills, and later coal and rail traffic across the county. Enterprise today is a small river community, but its address puts it inside the larger Clarksburg-area network of jobs, schools, and services.

The river is still the useful local detail. It connects Enterprise to the broader West Fork watershed and to nearby Harrison County communities, while county roads handle the everyday trips to stores, work, recreation, and school. Clarksburg remains the county seat and the region's main service center; Fairmont is close enough to pull the other direction for shopping and work. Enterprise does not need a long list of attractions to make sense: it is a West Virginia river settlement whose daily map is built from the West Fork, the valley roads, and the county system around it.
