About Ephrata

Ephrata is a borough in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, situated forty-two miles east of Harrisburg along the Cocalico Creek. Named after the biblical town of Ephrath, the community of approximately 13,800 developed from an early nineteenth-century mineral spring resort and farming hub. Today, the town is home to a significant Amish population, features the historic Ephrata Main Theater, and contains the Ephrata Commercial Historic District.
