Eros, LA

Eros started out in the early 1900s as a booming sawmill town, getting its memorable name from the newly discovered 433 Eros asteroid. Back then, it was a busy parish hub with hotels, a local newspaper, and Jackson Parish's very first high school. Today, Eros is a quiet rural town of around 130 residents centered along Highway 34. While you will head to neighboring communities like Quitman, Weston, or Jonesboro-Hodge for schools and daily errands, Eros offers plenty of open space, deep local history, and a relaxed country pace.
