About Esterbrook

Esterbrook is a Converse County CDP in the northern Laramie Range, within a historic base-metal district. The Esterbrook mine just south of the townsite was developed with a 350-foot shaft and drifts extending 300 feet south and 100 feet north. In 1902, recorded shipments contained lead, silver, and gold. A 1956 special election moved the area into Converse County, linking the settlement's current jurisdiction to its mining geography.
