About Eudora

Eudora is a DeSoto County census-designated place and unincorporated community about 25 miles south of Memphis. Mississippi Highway 301 meets old Mississippi 304 at the traditional center, giving the place a clear road-based map inside southwestern DeSoto County. Eudora Community Park sits beside the Eudora Fire Department and includes a walking track, ball field, tennis court, playground, pavilion, and restrooms. Arkabutla Lake, on the Coldwater River, is nearby and is managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for flood control and recreation.

Eudora's public systems are county-based. DeSoto County records identify 608 residential addresses in the Eudora area that received a broadband deployment grant in 2023, while the Eudora Volunteer Fire Department handles fire prevention, rescue operations, and support for county ambulance first responders. The community has no incorporated municipal government, so the park, fire department, roads, and utilities carry much of the visible civic work. A highway crossroads and a major reservoir define the larger setting around Eudora.
