About Eupora
Eupora began as Early Grove, a trading and agricultural community, then took its present name for Eupora Eudy in the mid-1800s. The Georgia Pacific Railway reached the area in 1889, turning the settlement into a trade junction and drawing cotton, timber, and businesses along the line. The Columbus and Greenville Railroad Depot, now a Mississippi Landmark and part of the Eupora Historic District, keeps that rail chapter visible. Eupora is central Mississippi with a name, a railroad, and a town history built from farm and forest.
