Eureka is a town in Wayne County, North Carolina, United States. The 2020 census counted 214 residents. Eureka is included in the Goldsboro, North Carolina Metropolitan Statistical Area. Eureka, NC was originally incorporated in 1879 as Saul's Cross Roads and the name was changed to Town of Eureka in 1901. Education in Eureka is administered by the Wayne County Public Schools system with children attending schools in nearby townships. Higher education is offered through Wayne Community College in Goldsboro. The short version is that Eureka carries an earlier story into the places people know and use now.
