About Evanston

Evanston is a city and the county seat of Uinta County, Wyoming, situated in the southwestern corner of the state near the Utah border. Founded in 1868 as a divisional point on the Union Pacific transcontinental railroad, the community of approximately 11,800 evolved into a key stop along the historic Lincoln Highway. The city is bisected by Interstate 80 and is home to the Uinta County Museum and Bear River State Park, which offers access to the scenic Bear River.
