Everest, KS

Everest is a small, peaceful community tucked into the rolling farmland of northeast Kansas. Founded in the 1880s as a stop along the Union Pacific Railroad, the town took its name from railroad attorney and state senator Aaron S. Everest. Today, it remains a quiet agricultural enclave where tree-lined residential streets give way to open skies and vast Kansas prairie.

For newcomers, Everest offers classic rural simplicity and a friendly, relaxed pace. Local students attend the South Brown County school district, traveling a short distance to neighboring Horton for middle and high school classes as well as everyday shopping and dining.
