Ewing, VA

Tucked into the far southwestern tip of Virginia, Ewing is a quiet mountain community where Virginia, Kentucky, and Tennessee meet. With fewer than 400 residents, it offers a peaceful rural lifestyle framed by rolling pastures and the surrounding Appalachian ridges. U.S. Route 58 runs right through town along Indian Creek, giving locals easy access to scenic drives and outdoor recreation at nearby Cumberland Gap.

For a small town, Ewing has a surprisingly strong educational footprint. It is home to Thomas Walker High School as well as Lincoln Memorial University’s sprawling DeBusk Veterinary Teaching Center, which brings veterinary students and researchers into the valley. For everyday errands, dining, and healthcare, residents usually take a short drive to Jonesville or head across the state line toward Harrogate and Middlesboro.
