About Fairbanks

Fairbanks is a quiet rural community in northwestern Sullivan County, centered around the intersection of State Road 63 and County Road 925 North. First settled in the 1800s and named after a War of 1812 soldier, it retains a classic countryside feel where neighbors look out for one another. The old 1910 school building now serves as a volunteer-run community center and gym, hosting local events and youth activities throughout the year. It is a peaceful, slow-paced spot surrounded by farmland, offering plenty of open space within an easy drive of Sullivan and Terre Haute.
