Fairview Crossroads, SC

Fairview Crossroads is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in southern Lexington County, South Carolina. It first appeared as a CDP before the 2020 census, which counted 540 residents. The name gives away the map: the community is centered on the junction of U.S. Route 178 and South Carolina Highway 113. From that point, U.S. 178 runs 15 miles northwest to Batesburg-Leesville and 7 miles southeast to Pelion; Highway 113 reaches Wagener about 7 miles south.

The CDP covers about 5.7 square miles, almost all land, at roughly 469 feet above sea level. There is no separate town-history chapter to lean on yet—the place's story is being written through the crossroads itself, the surrounding Lexington County road network, and the way the 2020 census gave the settlement a defined civic outline. The nearby towns provide its practical orientation, while the two numbered roads give it a clear address in the South Carolina Midlands.
