Falmouth is a quiet, rural community set along the banks of the Clam River in southern Missaukee County. Located just a short drive from McBain and Lake City, it is surrounded by open farmland, rolling countryside, and northern Michigan woods. The area got its start during the logging boom of the late 1800s, when it was originally known as Pinhook.
