About Felton

Felton is a Santa Cruz County community in the redwoods, at the confluence of the San Lorenzo River and Zayante Creek. Rancho Zayante was established here in 1833, and later gold activity and rail connections added to the area's history. The old South Pacific Coast Felton depot points to that railroad past, while today's Felton is closely tied to Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park and mountain-road life. It feels wooded, damp, and quietly eccentric, a Santa Cruz Mountains place with real depth.
