About Fernandina Beach

Fernandina Beach is a coastal city on Amelia Island and the county seat of Nassau County in northeast Florida. The area was first inhabited by the Timucua people, and the city later developed one of Florida's most distinctive historic port-town identities. Downtown Fernandina Beach still has a strong old-Florida feel, with brick streets, Victorian-era buildings, shrimping history, and a working waterfront near the Amelia River. It is also a beach community, giving it both historic depth and the easy appeal of Atlantic Coast access.
