About Firestone

Firestone's public calendar moves among neighborhood sites instead of depending on one civic square. In 2026, the town scheduled activities at Neighbors Point, Harney, Stoneridge, Peninsula, Settlers, Mountain Shadows, and Miners parks, as well as the Carbon Valley Regional Library. The lineup includes outdoor movies, a July 4 parade with activities, music, food trucks, and fireworks, and a September art reception. The related Art & Music Show places work by regional artists in the library from September 17 through October 22. The library, at 7 Park Avenue, is open seven days a week and stays open until 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Mountain Shadows Bike Park and Pump Track gives cyclists, skateboarders, and scooter riders asphalt and dirt features; a 2026 project extends the adjoining trail toward Waverley Avenue.

Carbon Valley Regional Library

Harney Park combines courts, a climbing rock, playground, picnic facilities, trails, and wildlife signage, and the town approved replacement playground equipment there in May 2026. Firestone is simultaneously absorbing substantial population and housing growth. The 2025 estimate of 20,129 was 23.0 percent above the 2020 estimates base and nearly double the official 2010 census count of 10,147. Its 2020-2024 profile shows 81.3 percent owner occupancy, a $560,100 median owner-occupied value, $2,009 median gross rent, and a 32.6-minute mean travel time for workers. Median household income was $120,150, while 25.0 percent of residents were Hispanic or Latino during that period. The town's park directory rounds out that public-space network with a regional sports complex, disc-golf course, dog park, sports fields, shelters, and trails.
