Fleming-Neon, KY

Fleming-Neon also known as Neon, is a home rule-class city in Letcher County, Kentucky, in the United States. The 2020 census counted 548 residents. The area that became Neon was originally known as Chip, which served as a lumber yard and storage site for yellow poplar. A post office operated under the name "Chip" from 1902 until 1915. Fleming-Neon High School served as the high school for the area for about 80 years. Fleming-Neon was built in 1925 and opened in 1926.
