About Flint Hill

Flint Hill is a Rappahannock County village along Route 522, about two miles east of Shenandoah National Park. Its surviving history reaches back to the early 1740s, and much of the linear village now sits inside the Flint Hill Historic District, a two-mile stretch running between Wilson Branch Creek and Ben Venue Road. The Jordan River’s designated scenic stretch begins at the Route 522 bridge here and continues about seven miles to the Rappahannock River. Flint Hill is Piedmont Virginia with a road, a historic village, and a river starting at the same crossroads.
