Flint, MI

Flint is the county seat of Genesee County, located along the Flint River and historically one of Michigan's major auto-industry cities. It grew from Native communities and the Saginaw Trail into a manufacturing center, becoming closely tied to General Motors and the labor movement. Flint is also nationally known for its water crisis, a serious public-health failure that still shapes how people understand the city. Even so, Flint has universities, museums, neighborhoods, and a deep civic history beyond any single headline.
