About Forbestown

Forbestown is a tiny, quiet community tucked into the Sierra Nevada foothills of Butte County, east of Oroville. With around 400 residents, it offers a peaceful rural lifestyle surrounded by pine forests and mountain scenery. Founded during the Gold Rush in 1850 when Ben Forbes opened a local trading post, the town originally grew around historic mining along the Feather River basin.
