About Forest Park
Forest Park is a small incorporated town in Oklahoma County within the Oklahoma City metropolitan area, between NE 23rd and 56th Streets and between I-35 and Bartell Road. Its origins are unusually planned: in the 1920s golf-course architect Perry Maxwell assembled 180 wooded acres around Twin Hills Golf and Country Club, and residential development followed. When Oklahoma City moved to annex the area in 1956, residents voted to incorporate; a court upheld the town the following year. The 2020 census counted 1,051 residents. Most students attend Mid-Del schools, including Pleasant Hill Elementary, Midwest City Middle, and Midwest City High. Forest Park remains a residential town with its own municipal government and a history shaped by its place inside a much larger urban area.
