Forestville is a bohemian census-designated place in the Russian River valley of Sonoma County, California. First settled in the late 1860s, the small town of approximately 3,700 historically developed a reputation as a retreat for writers and artists by the turn of the twentieth century. The community is served by the Forestville Union Elementary School District, with high schoolers attending El Molino High School.
