Fort Clark Springs, TX

Located right next to Brackettville in southwest Texas, Fort Clark Springs is a quiet community with around 1,200 residents. The heart of the area is Las Moras Springs, a natural spring system that supplies one of the largest spring-fed swimming pools in the state. Shaded by huge live oaks and pecan trees, the neighborhood has a relaxed, park-like feel while still sitting right off U.S. 90 for convenient travel toward Del Rio or San Antonio.

The neighborhood is built directly on the grounds of a 19th-century frontier cavalry post that remained active through World War II. After decommissioning in 1946, the historic grounds became a private residential and recreation community. Today, locals live among beautifully preserved limestone quarters, quiet golf fairways, and walking trails along the creek. It offers a distinctive blend of Texas history and laid-back country living, especially popular with retirees and people looking for a slower pace of life.
