About Fort Greely
Fort Greely is a census-designated place in Southeast Fairbanks Census Area, Alaska, home to the Fort Greely military installation. Located south of Delta Junction on the Richardson Highway, the post was selected for a compact nuclear power reactor under the Army Nuclear Power Program due to its remote location. With a population of 309 at the 2020 census, the CDP represents one of the military's most remote installations in the continental United States.
