Fort Washington, PA

Fort Washington is a Montgomery County community best understood through its Revolutionary War landscape and suburban Philadelphia location. Fort Washington State Park and the neighboring town are named for American defenses and an encampment established here in 1777. Today the park gives the area trails, picnic space, birding, and a strong green center, while office parks, schools, and commuter roads fill in the modern pattern. Fort Washington feels historic, leafy, and workday-suburban, with Philadelphia close but not visually dominant.
