Fouke, AR

Fouke is a Miller County city in the Texarkana metropolitan area, with 810 people in 2024. U.S. 71 runs through town; Interstate 49 passes just west with two exits, Texarkana is 15 miles northwest, and the Red River lies within 10 miles to the east and south. The city's older story reaches back to Sulphur Fork Factory, a United States trading post established after the Louisiana Purchase where the Sulphur River enters the Red River. World War II pulled local workers toward Lone Star Army Ammunition Plant and Red River Army Depot near Texarkana.
