About Fowler

Fowler is a Clinton County village within Dallas Township, about 10 miles west of St. Johns on M-21. Its story begins with the railroad: E. A. Wales acquired land along the Detroit, Grand Haven, and Milwaukee right-of-way in 1857, and the line was completed through the area that summer. The rail line set the settlement’s location, while M-21 now supplies the main route through the village. Fowler’s village hall keeps the civic center in view, linking a present-day municipal routine to a distinctly railroad-born beginning.
