About Franklin

Franklin is a city in Merrimack County, New Hampshire, situated at the confluence of the Pemigewasset and Winnipesaukee rivers where they join to form the Merrimack River. First settled in 1764 as Pemigewasset Village, the community of approximately 8,799 developed as a manufacturing center utilizing water power from the falls of the Winnipesaukee River. Public education is administered by the Franklin School District.
