About Franklin Park

Franklin Park is a borough in Allegheny County, northwest of Pittsburgh. It began as part of western Pennsylvania's Depreciation Lands, and residents petitioned in 1823 to separate from Ohio Township. Today Franklin Park is a suburban community with borders touching places such as Marshall Township, Pine Township, and McCandless. Its appeal is mostly residential: larger lots, wooded roads, good access to the North Hills, and a quieter setting within reach of Pittsburgh's job centers and northern suburban shopping corridors.
