About Franktown
Franktown is a Northampton County census-designated place on Virginia's Eastern Shore. The 2020 Census counted 61 residents and 30 housing units. A county historical marker application places an early Quaker meeting just south of the community and describes Franktown's neck as the fork between Nassawadox Creek and Church Creek. Hungars Parish organized religious and charitable life across the surrounding county, and the state's historic-register entry describes its glebe house as a little-changed colonial building probably dating from after 1745. Franktown's map still points to creeks, parish roads, and the old Eastern Shore settlements that grew around them.
