Freeborn, MN

Freeborn is a city in Freeborn County, Minnesota, United States. The 2020 census counted 264 residents. Freeborn was platted in 1857, and was incorporated in 1949. Freeborn, like its namesake county, the surrounding township, and Freeborn Lake, upon which the city is situated, derives its name from William Freeborn, a member of Minnesota's Territorial Legislature. That mix gives Freeborn a clear local shape within Minnesota, with older layers still visible in current places.
