Fruitville, FL

Fruitville is a census-designated place in Sarasota County, just east of the city of Sarasota. The area appears on maps going back to the mid-1800s, and its name still hints at older agricultural Florida even as suburban growth has filled in around it. Today Fruitville is mainly residential and service-oriented, with schools, libraries, shopping corridors, and quick access to Sarasota's beaches, arts scene, and jobs. It feels less like a separate town than a practical inland Sarasota community.
