Gallipolis, OH

Set along a bend of the Ohio River in southeastern Ohio, Gallipolis is a quiet river town of around 3,300 residents with a distinct French heritage. Founded in 1790 by a group of settlers known as the French 500, the community still honors its roots throughout the historic downtown district. Much of local life gathers around Gallipolis City Park right on the riverbank, which hosts community traditions like the summer River Recreation Festival, the Gallia County BBQ Festival, and the Gallipolis in Lights holiday display.
