Geneva, NE

Geneva is Fillmore County's seat in southeast Nebraska, a prairie city organized around a courthouse square and a clock tower. The 2020 census counted 2,136 residents. The city was founded in 1871, the county took its name from Millard Fillmore, and the courthouse was completed in 1894 in a Richardsonian Romanesque style. Its three-story tower and community clock have been part of the town's visual center for more than a century. Railroads helped Geneva grow after the Burlington and Missouri River line reached the county in 1871 and later routes came through town.
