About Georgetown
Georgetown is a town in southeastern White County, Arkansas, overlooking the White River. First settled in 1789 before the Louisiana Purchase, Georgetown is recognized as the oldest continuously settled area in Arkansas, predating even Batesville, the state's next oldest community, by approximately twenty-one years. With a population of 81 at the 2020 census, the small river town retains its residential character above the White River floodplain.
