Located about an hour west of Denver in the Rocky Mountain foothills, Georgetown is a quiet town of around 1,100 people with deep silver-mining roots. Its historic downtown still looks much like it did in the late 1800s, filled with well-kept Victorian homes, local shops, and cafes along Clear Creek. Living here puts you right on Interstate 70, which gives you a straightforward drive into the Denver area as well as quick access to ski areas like Loveland. Clear Creek School District covers local families, and county services are based right in town. Winter ski traffic along the corridor requires some patience on weekends, but you get a tight-knit community surrounded by mountain views in return.
