About Gillette

Gillette is the county seat of Campbell County and one of northeastern Wyoming's main regional centers. Founded in 1891 as a Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad town, it grew from a place once called Donkey Town near Donkey Creek into a major service hub. Gillette is closely tied to the Powder River Basin energy economy, while also supporting regional media, education, health care, and arts.
