About Glasgow
Glasgow is a census-designated place in New Castle County, Delaware, south of Newark and near the Maryland line. During the American Revolution, the area was known as Aikentown after tavern owner Matthew Aiken, but modern Glasgow is mostly a suburban crossroads. It has schools, shopping centers, subdivisions, and access to major routes linking Newark, Middletown, Wilmington, and Elkton. Glasgow is not a historic town center in the old-fashioned sense; it is a practical Delaware suburb shaped by growth along the county's southern edge.
