Glenburn, ND

Glenburn is a quiet rural community in north-central North Dakota, sitting just east of Highway 83 and about twenty-five miles north of Minot. Founded in the early 1900s along the Great Northern Railway, the settlement was briefly named Lincoln before taking on its current name. According to local history, it became Glenburn after a boy on a bicycle prompted a bystander to remark that Glen was burning up the road, and the moniker stuck.

For prospective residents, Glenburn provides a peaceful country setting paired with a straightforward commute. Minot Air Force Base is roughly ten miles south, making the town a convenient option for military personnel and contractors who prefer open space and a traditional neighborhood feel. Most everyday activity revolves around the local school and community gatherings, while full-service shopping, dining, and medical care are an easy trip south into Minot.
