About Glenview Manor
Glenview Manor is a tiny home rule-class city tucked in northern Jefferson County, about eight miles northeast of downtown Louisville. The 2020 census counted 206 residents. Northfield borders it to the south and west, while consolidated Louisville/Jefferson County wraps around the other sides. Glenview Manor's postwar community dates to 1948, and formal city incorporation followed in 1965. The name comes from the nearby community of Glenview, but the manor developed its own municipal identity and neighborhood character. Its scale is easy to miss on a regional map.
Most of the local texture comes from its residential scale. Deed restrictions and city ordinances shape building changes, the city commission handles municipal business, and an annual Fall Festival plus a cooperative July Fourth celebration with Northfield supply the main public gatherings. Glenview Manor's social life is built around neighborhood streets, the Northfield edge, and quick access to Louisville's larger services. It is a small city whose identity comes from maintaining its own rules and calendar inside a much larger metro.
