Glide, OR

Glide is a small, scenic community in the Cascade foothills, about twenty minutes east of Roseburg along Highway 138. Home to around 1,800 people, it sits right on the North Umpqua River and serves as a gateway to the Umpqua National Forest. Outdoor recreation is a major part of life here, with easy access to hiking trails, camping spots, and renowned fly-fishing waters. The community's most famous landmark is Colliding Rivers, where the Little River and the North Umpqua meet head-on.

Families are served by the Glide School District, which operates an elementary, middle, and high school right in town. While small local stores cover the immediate basics, residents make the quick drive into Roseburg for major grocery trips, healthcare, and employment. It offers a relaxed, rural lifestyle with mountain views and a close-knit neighborhood feel, all without being isolated from essential services.
