About Grace
Grace is a Caribou County city in Idaho’s Gem Valley, where the Bear River runs through a landscape shaped by ancient lava. The lava flow diverted the river from its Pacific drainage toward the Great Basin, helping form the valley and the larger Lake Bonneville story. Grace’s present-day calendar has a very practical center: the Caribou County Fair and Rodeo, held at the fairgrounds since 1947 and built around agriculture, livestock, 4-H, FFA, and rodeo events. The old Last Chance Flume also points to the area’s irrigation history, carrying Bear River water toward farmland. In Grace, geology, water, and farm life all meet in the same handful of local landmarks.
