Grand Mound, WA

Grand Mound sits in southern Thurston County, right along the Lewis County line just north of Centralia. Home to around 3,300 residents, it offers a quiet, semi-rural setting with quick access to the rest of the region. The community is located right at the junction of Interstate 5 and U.S. Route 12, making for an easy drive north to Olympia, south to Centralia and Chehalis, or west toward the coast. The surrounding countryside is defined by wide open fields and the green lowlands around Scatter Creek and the Chehalis River.

Local students attend schools in the Rochester School District, starting close to home at Grand Mound Elementary. Day-to-day life here is relaxed, though the area is well known across the Pacific Northwest for Great Wolf Lodge, a popular indoor water park resort right off the freeway, and the nearby South Sound Speedway. With its mix of open spaces, neighborhood schools, and straightforward highway connections, Grand Mound provides a comfortable, convenient base for settling down in southwest Washington.
