About Granger
Granger is a Scotland County village on the Burlington rail line, recorded with 22 residents and 21 housing units in the 2020 Census. The post office dates to 1876, the village was surveyed and laid out in 1874, and incorporation followed in 1912. Granger sits on a high prairie in a farming area east of Memphis, and its name came from the Grange movement that attracted local members. A historic consolidated school district also included parts of nearby townships. Granger’s present map is a tiny rail-era village rooted in prairie agriculture and regional school history.
