About Grayling
Grayling is an Athabaskan city in the Yukon-Koyukuk Census Area, Alaska, situated on the banks of the Yukon River. Since 1977, the community has hosted a checkpoint for the famous Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race during odd-numbered years. With a population of just over two hundred residents, the village is served by the Iditarod Area School District, which operates the local David Louis Memorial School.
