Great Bend, KS

Great Bend is the county seat of Barton County, Kansas, situated at the point where the Arkansas River turns eastward. Founded in 1871 near the historic Santa Fe Trail and named for the river's bend, the city of approximately 14,479 is home to Barton Community College. Public education is served by Great Bend Unified School District 428.
