Great Meadows, NJ

Great Meadows is a Warren County census-designated place in Independence Township, with a name that comes straight from the broad meadow landscape. The township’s history includes draining the Great Meadow and channeling its water so the land could support commercial vegetable farming. The old Great Meadows Railroad Station also appears on the county’s historic-sites list, a reminder that rail once carried farm products out of the valley.
