Green Lane, PA

Green Lane is a Montgomery County borough in the Upper Perkiomen Valley, founded in 1875 near the area's first iron forge. Rail and road connections later brought cigar making, ice harvesting, carriage work, and other small industries, giving the borough a working history that reaches beyond its small footprint. The borough sits at the northern end of Green Lane Park, where the Perkiomen Creek valley opens into reservoirs, woods, meadows, and wetlands.

Green Lane Park covers about 3,400 acres and includes three bodies of water, trails, camping, fishing, boating, and wildlife programs. The Pennsylvania Highlands Trail Network and Perkiomen Trail meet in the borough, making Green Lane a practical trail connection as well as a residential community. Upper Perkiomen School District serves students from Green Lane and neighboring towns, while borough council and the fire house handle local civic business on Main Street. Green Lane is a southeastern Pennsylvania borough where an old forge town now sits beside a county park and two long trail systems.
