Green Valley CDP (Los Angeles County), CA

Green Valley is an unincorporated census-designated place in the Sierra Pelona Mountains of Los Angeles County, set within San Francisquito Canyon a few miles northwest of Bouquet Reservoir. The community sits about 20 miles north of Santa Clarita and 19 miles west of Palmdale, with its roads following a mountain-valley pattern. Widow Smith's Station, a Butterfield Overland Mail stop about a mile south on San Francisquito Canyon Road, preserves a nineteenth-century transportation thread. Green Valley's location gives it a distinct relationship to the Angeles National Forest and the Antelope Valley edge.

Los Angeles County created a Green Valley Community Standards District after local residents sought development rules fitted to the existing rural landscape. County documents describe narrow roads without curbs, gutters, or sidewalks, plus commercial and subdivision standards intended to keep the area's physical pattern recognizable.
